WHERE THE HELL IS AKRON OHIO? Vol. 3

On Record Store Day, Saturday, April 18, 2020, ​Akron Recording Company​ (ARC) is releasing volume three of ​Where the Hell is Akron, OH?,​ a compilation of songs by musicians from Northeast Ohio. To help combat the negative effects that the covid-19 shut down has had on the music community, this year’s compilation will be released digitally via ARC’s ​bandcamp page​, where all proceeds for the compilation will be donated to the featured artists. ARC will also be opening ​presales for vinyl copies ​of the compilation Saturday as well, and it will later be available on all streaming services. Artists featured on ​Where the Hell is Akron, OH?​ include new unreleased songs from, Oregon Space Trail of Doom, Detention, Clyde & Friends, and Benny Lava, as well as recent releases from Acid Cats, Peachcurls, Three Legged Chairs, See Creatures, Church of Starry Wisdom, Seafoam Tsunami, Forager, Josh Bolin, and Tommy Lehman. All of the songs on ​Where the Hell is Akron, OH?​ have been either recorded, mixed or mastered at Akron Recording Company.

Each volume of ​Where the Hell is Akron, OH?​ is a snapshot of the current music scene in Akron, which is one of many facets that make Akronites proud to call this city home. ARC is always looking for ways to support the local music scene, which makes the timing of this year’s compilation ever more potent, as it is a moment in which we are all looking to stay connected to the many things we care about. We hope volume 3 brings some joy into people’s homes right now during the pandemic and that they find new local artists to support and to go see when we are able to attend concerts again soon!

Through this annual compilation, working with local artists to achieve their vision, and presenting live shows, ARC hopes to continue the musical legacy in Akron and revive it as a global destination for music.
